Over 20,000 applicants are participating in the Nigerian Air Force Zonal General Aptitude Test for the 2025 Basic Military Training Course 46 recruitment exercise.
The aptitude test is being conducted at 15 designated centres across the country, including Sokoto, Minna, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Yola, Makurdi, Jos, Ilorin, Ipetu-Ijesa, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt, and Ikeja.
A statement issued on Sunday by the NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the nationwide spread of the centres was designed to ensure inclusiveness, equal opportunity, and a transparent, merit-based recruitment process for qualified candidates.
“The Nigerian Air Force has commenced the Zonal General Aptitude Test for the Year 2025 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 46 Recruitment Exercise, with over 20,000 applicants,” the statement read.
Speaking on the exercise, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, said the recruitment process was guided by fairness, integrity, and strict adherence to established standards.
He said the aptitude test was a critical stage in selecting candidates based on merit, adding that the quality of personnel was central to the operational effectiveness of the Air Force.
“The Nigerian Air Force remains firmly committed to recruiting the best candidates by merit, as the quality of our personnel is fundamental to operational effectiveness and the successful execution of our constitutional mandate,” he said.
This comes as the Police Service Commission and the Nigeria Police Force plan to recruit 50,000 personnel to boost manpower, following a directive by President Bola Tinubu on November 26.
