Kaduna Govt: Era of Demolitions, Mass Sacking over
The Kaduna State government has declared a definitive end to the era of “arbitrary” house demolitions, mass sacking of workers, and other practices that created fear and uncertainty among residents.
This assurance was given by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, during engagement visits to Vision FM and Maria FM radio stations in Kaduna.
He said the administration of Governor Uba Sani is committed to a more humane and people-focused approach to governance.
Maiyaki stressed that the new leadership is determined to break from the policies that once displaced families and destabilised livelihoods.
“The era of demolishing houses, arbitrary sacking of workers, and intimidating our people is over. Governor Uba Sani is charting a new course anchored on peace, development, and respect for citizens.”
According to the commissioner, the government’s renewed commitment to openness and public engagement informed the decision to restore the Ministry of Information, scrapped by the previous administration.
He urged media organisations to seek timely clarification from the government to prevent misinformation and support its efforts to rebuild trust with the populace.
Maiyaki also highlighted the success of the Kaduna Peace Model, a structured peace and security framework credited with reducing banditry and restoring stability in local government areas such as Birnin Gwari, Chikun, Kajuru, Kauru, Kachia, and Giwa.
“The Kaduna Peace Model is yielding results across communities. We urge the media to help sustain this progress,” he said.
At Vision FM, the Head of Administration, Malam Abdulhamid Idris, welcomed the renewed partnership and assured the government of the station’s readiness to support efforts geared toward public interest.
At Maria FM, a faith-based station, Director Rev. Fr. Joseph Gwandu, commended the inclusive approach and pledged continued promotion of peace-building narratives.
Maiyaki had delivered similar assurances during earlier visits to NTA Kaduna, FRCN Kaduna, Nagarta Radio, Liberty FM, DITV Kaduna, Hyai FM, Freedom FM, and Hamada FM, where he repeated that the Uba Sani administration remains open, responsive, and committed to building a safer and more stable Kaduna State.
