AFCON 2025: Ekong, Aina rally Super Eagles ahead of Morocco semi-final showdown
Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong and defender Ola Aina have sent emotional messages of support to the Super Eagles ahead of tonight’s AFCON 2025 semi-final clash against hosts Morocco in Rabat.
The Super Eagles head into the semi-final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium full of confidence, having won all their matches at AFCON 2025 and standing as the only team with a perfect record in the tournament.

In a message shared on the Super Eagles’ official social media platforms, Aina praised the collective effort behind the team’s impressive run.
“I want to wish you all the very best in the semi-finals, to the players, technical crew, managers, coaches, physios, doctors and everyone who has been doing a fantastic job,” Aina said.
“It has been amazing watching you play the way you know you can play. This is a quick message to all of you: do your best, and all the best of luck. I will be rooting for you from home, sending you all my prayers and well wishes.”
Troost-Ekong also expressed pride in the team’s progress and belief in their ability to go all the way.
“My brothers, the day is here. I am really excited to see you all take on Morocco tonight,” he said.
“I just want to say how proud I am of the team. Everything you are doing is giving me so much energy. Everywhere I go, people are talking about the Super Eagles; you are getting better and better.
“Coach, the diamond formation in midfield and the way the players are rotating is really working well, and I can’t wait to watch the game. If you win against Morocco, you will be one step closer to taking the trophy home.
“Stick together and enjoy the moment. Some of you are playing in a semi-final for the first time; enjoy it, because these will be some of the most unforgettable moments of your lives.
“Fight for each other. At the end, you should be able to look in the mirror and say you gave everything. Keep doing what you are doing. I believe you will win this game. I will be supporting and shouting at my TV.
“I love you all; I have faith in you. Go out there and win it.”
