
Pandemonium as Fire erupts at Lagos trailer park
A fire broke out on Thursday evening at Berger Trailer Park, Berger Suya, Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle, involving trailers, containerised stalls, and disused tyres.
According to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS), the emergency call was received at 20:15 hours, and fire crews arrived on the scene by 20:30 hours.
The response involved personnel and equipment from Ajegunle, Sari Iganmu, and Alausa HQ Fire Stations, alongside support from LASTMA, LISA, and the Nigeria Police Force.
Firefighting operations are currently ongoing, according to the update provided by the fire service.
No casualties have been reported, and preliminary investigations suggest negligence as the likely cause of the fire.
Margaret Adeseye, Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed that the situation is under control and emphasized the importance of fire safety compliance in crowded commercial areas.
