Nigerian billionaire and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has rewarded long-serving employees of the conglomerate with cash gifts in recognition of their years of service.
The cash rewards were announced on Friday, December 13, 2025, during the BUA Night-of-Excellence Long-Service Awards held in Lagos.
Speaking at the event, Rabiu commended the dedication and resilience of the company’s workforce, describing employees as the backbone of BUA Group’s growth and success.
He said recognising loyalty and hard work remained a core value of the organisation, particularly amid rising living costs and economic uncertainty in the country.
Rabiu noted that businesses perform better when employees feel valued and secure, adding that BUA would continue to prioritise staff welfare as part of its long-term growth strategy.
He said, “Today is a very special occasion for me. We are not just celebrating long service, we are celebrating loyalty, commitment, resilience and the extraordinary power of people.
“Because no matter how big BUA becomes, the true strength of this company has always been and will always remain its people.
According to him, the company’s achievements were built on the commitment of its workforce, stressing that employees were partners in the BUA legacy.
“You built the factories, you developed the systems, you managed the challenges, you defended the brand.
“Without you, there would be no BUA story to celebrate. For me, BUA has never been just a business; it has always been a family, and each of you here, members of the BUA family, is not merely a staff member; you are a partner in this legacy.
“You are a custodian of our name, of our values and our vision. Some of you have spent the best years of your lives here. You have grown with us, you have stayed with us through good times and through challenging moments.
“This token is not a payment for your sacrifice; it is not a measure of your rewards. Because the truth is, no amount of money can fully reward the years of dedication, late nights, early mornings, personal sacrifices and passion we have invested in this company. This is simply saying, we see you, we value you, we appreciate you.
“One truth stands out above all: the real power behind BUA, the heart of everything we do, is you, our people. Your dedication, your loyalty and your passion are what make every goal achievable, every challenge surmountable, and every success possible.
He assured staff that as the company expands, they would also benefit from its growth, reiterating that the people remained the driving force behind the group’s continued success.
“Let me make this promise: as BUA grows, you will grow, as BUA advances, you will advance. As BUA becomes stronger, every member of this family will rise with it, because this legacy is yours as much as it is mine. Thank you.”
