
Boxers intensify preparations for Enyimba 2025 Champs

Preparations by boxers scheduled to participate in the forthcoming tournament in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State, tagged “The Rising Lion in Elephant Shadow Boxing Championship – Enyimba 2025” are in top gear, with champions set to defend their titles.
Speaking from his training ground, the South-Eastern Nigeria Featherweight Boxing Champion and the Pride of Amangwu Arochukwu, Chibuike Okoronkwo, said that he is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that he successfully defends his title.
He commended the promoters of the championship, IKEUJ Boxing Promotions, the sanctioning body, the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control, and the sponsor, Abia State Government, for their roles in the exciting clash scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
The emerging boxing talent personally appreciated Governor Alex Otti for his sports-friendly disposition and assured that he would reciprocate with excellent performance.
Meanwhile, the venue for the historic championship has been moved to Aba Sports Club 1926. According to ex-international boxer and promoter, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, the shift in venue is to ensure a hitch-free outing.
Mazi Okoronkwo revealed that other boxers are also working tirelessly to secure victory at the expense of their opponents and thanked Governor Alex Otti for his decision to revive boxing in Abia, which has produced many renowned boxers.
For the featherweight category, it’s Okoronkwo versus Nwambeke Ndubisi.
In the super featherweight, Israel Ogbodo (Izzy Money) will take on Udeh Chibuike, while in the lightweight cadre, Chinaza Okoronkwo will square up against Ede Peter.
For the heavyweight class, Chukwu Chinonso will lock horns with Idris Abdulkarim.
The event will take place on Tuesday, December 16, at Aba Sports Club 1926, No. 1 Club Road, Aba, Abia State. The event is sanctioned by the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control and promoted by IKEUJ Boxing Promotion, with the Abia State Government as co-sponsor.
