
Abducted district head’s son freed after N2m ransom
Sanusi Usman, the abducted son of the late district head of Wako in Kwali Area Council of the FCT has regained his freedom from captives after payment of a N2m million ransom.
Abuja Metro had reported that Usman was abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers at his Kwaita-Tsoho community on Monday night.
A family member of the victim, who preferred anonymity for security reasons, said the Usman was freed on Wednesday at about 8pm in a forest which bordered Kwali and Kuje.
He said the gunmen earlier demanded N15m, and that after intensive negotiations, before they settled for N2m.
He added that foodstuff, including spaghetti, beans, rice; cigarettes, cough syrups, as well as energy drinks, worth N275,000, were also delivered to the kidnappers.
The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, did not respond to calls over the development, but a source at the Kwali Division confirmed the return of the victim.
