Tammy Abraham nears £18m Aston Villa return
Tammy Abraham is closing in on a return to Aston Villa after Turkish club Beşiktaş activated their obligation to buy the striker from AS Roma, a mandatory step before sanctioning his move back to the Premier League, according to BBC Sport.
The 28-year-old England international completed his medical on Saturday, with the deal expected to be finalised in the coming days.

Villa are set to pay around £18 million to re-sign Abraham, who previously scored 25 goals during the club’s successful 2018/19 Championship promotion campaign.
Although Beşiktaş were initially reluctant to sell the England international, they accepted Villa’s offer after triggering the compulsory purchase clause in his loan agreement. In a statement, the Super Lig club confirmed it will pay Roma a fee of £11.2 million.
“The conditions in the transfer contract of Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham have been fulfilled, and the provision for the permanent transfer of the player has come into effect,” Beşiktaş said.
“In this context, a transfer fee of €13 million will be paid to AS Roma.”
Abraham, who has 11 England caps, scored 12 goals in 24 appearances for Beşiktaş this season.
The former Chelsea striker joined Roma in 2021 for £34 million, going on to score 39 goals in 120 matches and helping the Serie A side win the Europa Conference League in 2022.
He later spent the 2024/25 season on loan at AC Milan, scoring 10 goals in 44 appearances.
Abraham’s return would mark a reunion with Aston Villa, where he remains fondly remembered for his prolific 2018/19 season, which culminated in promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.
