
Northern Nigeria’s First Professor of Education, Adamu Baikie, dies at 94
The first professor of education in Northern Nigeria, Adamu Baikie, has passed away at the age of ninety four.
Adamu Baikie died Friday evening at his residence in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Prof. Baikie, a distinguished educationist, academic and university administrator, was a former Vice Chancellor of different Nigerian and foreign universities.
His eldest son, Major (rtd) Muhammad Adamu, confirmed the death to Daily Trust on Friday.
According to Muhammad, the deceased is survived by five children.
He added that details of the funeral prayer will be communicated in due course.
