Man United sack Ruben Amorim after 14 months as head coach
Manchester United have sacked head coach Ruben Amorim after 14 months in the role.
Recent disagreements between the club and the manager have strained their relationship.
The club drew 1-1 draw on Saturday against Leeds United at Elland Road and Amorin allegedly attacked some of his superiors during the post-match press conference.
He claimed that he wanted more power, saying he was ready to leave when his contract expired in 18 months.
Former Manchester United midfielder, Darren Fletcher, is set to take over on an interim basis.
Amorim was criticized for his refusing to adjust his philosophy, which was attributed to Man United’s loss in the Europa League final last year.
The Portuguese was appointed last year following the sack of Erik ten Hag who was said to have performed below expectations.
