Troops of Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace have neutralised kidnappers, rescued abducted victims, and foiled planned attacks in a series of coordinated operations between 11 and 13 December 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement by JTF Operation, Media Information Officer, Samson Zhakom, on Monday.
On December 11, troops of Sector 5 (Sub-Sector 4) conducted an offensive clearance operation at known kidnappers’ hideouts in Dangoma and Godogodo villages, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The troops “made contact with the criminals and exchanged fire,” resulting in the neutralisation of three notorious kidnappers.
It was stated that the members of the gang fled the scene with gunshot wounds, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.
In Plateau State, on December 12, troops of Sector 1 (Sub-Sector 1) intercepted a notorious bandit, kidnapper, and gunrunner along the Jebbu–Gada Biu road in Bassa LGA.
The suspect, responsible for multiple kidnappings and armed robberies in Bassa and Jos North LGAs, “opened fire but was swiftly neutralised by the troops.”
Items recovered from the suspect include “one pistol, 9 rounds of 9 mm ammunition, one dagger, one mobile phone, and a large sum of money, all of which are in custody.”
The following day, troops responded promptly to intelligence about an impending attack at Gidan-Saki Village, Zangon Kataf LGA, Kaduna State.
The JTF noted that their timely intervention forced the criminals to abandon the mission and flee into the surrounding bushes.
“Troops are deploying necessary means to apprehend the fleeing suspects,” the statement said.
Also on December 13, troops deployed at Jengre, Plateau State, conducted a well-coordinated ambush after four persons were kidnapped at Rimi Village, Jere District, Bassa LGA.
“Upon contact, a fire fight ensued, forcing the kidnappers to abandon the kidnapped victims and flee,” JTF said.
During the operation, one kidnapper was neutralised, and all four victims were rescued alive.
Recovered items included “one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and 13 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition.”
The rescued victims have since been debriefed and reunited with their families, while efforts continue to arrest the fleeing criminals.
JTF Operation ENDURING PEACE reiterated its commitment to “sustaining pressure on criminal elements and ensuring the safety and security of law-abiding citizens across the joint operations area,” highlighting its proactive approach in protecting communities and dismantling criminal networks.
