Rivers: Wike vows to correct leadership mistake in 2027
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has pledged that the “leadership mistake” in Rivers State will be corrected in the 2027 general elections.
He made the remark during a “thank you” visit to residents of Khana in Bori, Khana Local Government Area.
Wike emphasised that leaders are elected to represent the will of the people, rather than pursue personal agendas.
“We will not make the same mistake again at the state level in 2027, but we will talk about it later when the time comes. Just follow your leaders. Anywhere you see them going, that is where we are going,” he said.
The minister also indicated that voters in Rivers would no longer vote strictly along party lines, but would consider “family” interests to ensure continued development under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Earlier, Rep. Dumnamene Dekor (APC – Khana/Gokana) commended Wike and Tinubu for turning Ogoniland into “the pride of the nation.”
