The Oyo State government has announced that more than 250 junior officers will sit for the 2025 Conversion Examination for Clerical and Allied Staff.
The Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Prof. Salihu Adelabu, stated that the examination, commencing at 9:00 am on Friday, 19th December, will take place at Simeon Adebo Staff Development Centre, Secretariat, Ibadan.
The disclosure was made in a statement on Monday by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to Prof. Adelabu, eligible officers who will participate include clerical assistants, clerical officers, store attendants, storekeepers, judiciary staff, and other allied personnel who have duly applied for the conversion.
“Examination slips will be issued only to candidates who have correctly completed and submitted their application forms on or before Monday, 15th December, 2025,” Prof. Adelabu said.
He cautioned that applicants who did not meet the requirement would not be allowed to participate in the examination.
“Any candidate who does not properly complete the attendance register will not be recognised as having taken part in the examination,” Adelabu added, stressing the need for strict compliance with all examination procedures.
He advised candidates to arrive early and maintain orderly conduct to ensure a smooth and hitch-free examination process.
A conversion exam is a qualifying test conducted by the government to enable serving junior officers to change their cadre or job category within the public service.
It assesses candidates’ competence and eligibility for promotion or redeployment into higher or specialised clerical and allied positions.
