Plateau PDP denies Jang’s alleged defection
The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed rumours that former governor and senator, Jonah Jang, has defected to another party.
The speculation, which trended on social media, claimed that Jang had joined either the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
But the PDP yesterday rejected the claims, describing them as the work of mischief makers and party detractors.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. Choji Felix Dalyop, clarified that Jang remains a PDP stalwart.
“The PDP wishes to state unequivocally that His Excellency Jonah Jang, Executive Governor of Plateau State (2007–2015) and Senator of Plateau North (2015–2019), is not, nor has he ever been, a member of the ADC or SDP. Any claims or implications suggesting otherwise are entirely false and spread by unauthorized persons or groups.”
Dalyop added that Jang’s name remains on the PDP’s official membership records.
