NASFAT Chief Missioner honoured by Utomi’s Leadership Centre

In a historic moment for interfaith recognition in Nigeria, the Chief Missioner of Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society (NASFAT), Sheikh Abdul-Azeez Onike, has been honoured by the Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL), the organisation founded by renowned political economist, Prof. Pat Utomi.

The ceremony, held in Victoria Island, Lagos, marked the very first time CVL would recognise religious leaders from both the Islamic and Christian communities—an intentional step toward celebrating moral leadership that transcends religious lines.

The gathering drew an impressive audience of thought leaders, academics, business executives, clerics, and media professionals, all present to witness the symbolic milestone.

Onike’s recognition places him in the distinguished company of eminent past honourees such as Dr. Christopher Kolade, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, and Chief Wale Olanipekun—figures widely respected for their enduring service to humanity.

His selection was attributed to his steady leadership within NASFAT, his advocacy for peaceful coexistence, and his consistent contributions to nation-building.

NASFAT, in a statement expressed profound joy at the honour bestowed on its Chief Missioner, describing it as well-deserved and timely.
