
Tinubu Swears In New NPC Chairman, Commissioners, Five Perm Secs
The new chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Aminu Yusuf, has been sworn in by President Bola Tinubu alongside two commissioners of the commission.
The brief ceremony, part of the first segment of the Federal Executive Council meeting, was witnessed by members of the council.
On October 22, 2025, the Senate confirmed Yusuf from Niger State as NPC Chairman, while Joseph Haruna Kigbu from Nasarawa State and Tonga Betara Bularafa from Yobe State were confirmed as commissioners.

Five permanent secretaries were also sworn in alongside the NPC officials.
In October, the Council of State approved the appointment of Yusuf as the chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC).
He takes over from Nasir Isa Kwara, who was appointed in 2020.
