Gunmen who three months ago abducted three family members in Zhibi community in Tafa LGA of Niger State, near Dei-Dei town in the FCT, have killed one of the victims.
Abuja Metro previously reported how gunmen broke into a home on October 3, 2025, and abducted a man, Muhammad Shuaibu, along with his two daughters: the elder one a 200-level university student and the younger one, named Fatima, a 19-year-old secondary school student.
A family member, who spoke with our reporter yesterday, said the gang contacted the man’s wife through phone five days ago informing her that her younger daughter had passed away.
He said, “The mother insisted on knowing how to locate the corpse, but they responded that they left it in the bush.
“Her husband, who also spoke to her over the phone, confirmed the development and requested that a funeral prayer be conducted for the girl.”
He further said, all previous efforts to secure the victims’ release, including a ₦10m ransom offer, were rejected by the abductors, who insisted on N100m.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, said, ‘’Will verify please.’’
