
Taraba launches seed production to boost food security
Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has launched the Taraba Seed Production Limited as part of efforts to transform agricultural productivity and strengthen food security in the state.
Kefas, while launching the seed production in Lau, said it is aimed at strengthening food security in the state.
According to him, Taraba Seed Production aims to produce hybrid seedlings for farmers and represents a major step toward strengthening the national agricultural value chain by ensuring farmers’ access to high-quality, certified, and climate-resilient seeds.
Kefas further stated that the initiative forms part of his administration’s unwavering commitment to the socio-economic development of Taraba State.
He also disclosed plans to construct the road leading to Lau as part of efforts to open up the area for economic growth and improved access.
The governor urged the people of the area to actively participate in the programme and safeguard the project to ensure its sustainability.
