2026: Clerics urge Nigerians to be more committed to God, express genuine love
…As NCPC expresses optimism for peace
As Nigeria continues the New Year celebration, clerics and Church leaders have urged Nigerians to be more committed to the things of God throughout 2026.
Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in his 2026 prophecies, revealed that Nigeria shall experience a new wave of economic progress.
“He said there will be more opportunities this year than last year – more breakthroughs, more successes, more victories and less failures.”
According to Adeboye, Nigerians will experience a reduction in hunger, as small and medium enterprises will begin to blossom.
“He said something that I can only put down as reverse ‘japa’ – many who ‘japad’ (travelled) will come back home.”

On the global scene, Adeboye said the chances of a major war is less this year than 2025.
“As far as the weather is concerned, he says the pattern will be similar to 2025 except there is the chance of a couple of major hurricanes.”
David Oyedepo, founder and senior pastor, Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners), urged Nigerians to be more committed to God, and to express genuine love in the New Year.
Speaking at the church headquarters in Ota, Oyedepo stated that throughout 2026, from January to December, all things will keep working together for good.
“It shall be so in your health. There shall be no breakdown throughout this year. No physical and emotional breakdown.
“No man will gather to mourn in your family this year. Anyone appointed to death shall be set free. Every medical verdict of death is cancelled in Jesus name.”
Daniel Olukoya, the general overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), stated that prayers are needed to avert the looming crisis in the country because of the renewed strategy by the kingdom of darkness to recruit children, adding that much damage has been done already.
Olukoya also urged Nigerians to pray against strange happenings, such as fire explosions. According to him, 2026 would be a tragic year for traitors and disloyal people as well as unfaithful married people.
“God would pass through many nations, families and churches to reward and judge them,” Olukoya stated.
Stephen Adegbite, the executive secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), has expressed optimism that Nigeria will experience peace and prosperity in the New Year.
“The Lord will do a new thing for Nigeria, and everyone will see it and rejoice,” Adegbite said in a New Year message, signed by Celestine Toruka, deputy director & head, media & public relations, NCPC.
Adegbite affirmed that peace will reign across the country, emphasising that “without peace, there will never be meaningful development, and it is peace that will bring prosperity.”
The NCPC also disclosed that the first batch of Christian pilgrims are already in the Holy Land, interceding for Nigeria’s peace and prosperity.
