
Police Rescue 3 Victims, Arrest 6 Suspects in Nasarawa
Nasarawa State Police Command has rescued three kidnapped victims and arrested six suspects in a joint operation with local vigilantes.
According to a statement issued by SP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, the victims – two females and one male – were abducted from Angara village in Lafia local government and were rescued unhurt.
He said the suspects, who have confessed to the crime, have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
He explained that the operation was carried out by police operatives from Assakio Division, following a complaint received on January 7, 2026.
“This operation followed a complaint lodged on 07/01/2026, reporting that suspected kidnappers invaded Angara village and abducted two females, leaving behind an infant, and later kidnapped another male in the same village.”
“Acting on this information, the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, immediately ordered a manhunt for the perpetrators, which culminated in the successful arrest of the suspects and the rescue of the victims.”
The statement added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has assured residents of the command’s commitment to combating criminality in the state.
