
Gombe constitutes panel to implement grazing reserves report
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has constituted a high-powered committee to implement the White Paper Report on the Assessment of Grazing Reserves, Forest Reserves, Game Reserves, and Cattle Routes across the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who announced the governor’s approval, explained that the committee comprises representatives from key security agencies, relevant ministries and departments, traditional institutions, farmers’ and herders’ associations, as well as technical and regulatory bodies.
A statement on Wednesday by Director General, Press Affairs, Ismail Uba Misilli, said AIG Babaji Sunday (Rtd) has been appointed as Chairman of the Committee.
He said members of the committee are; Yusuf Madi, Director of Livestock; Suleiman Musa Kumo, Director of Forestry, The Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command; The State Director of Security; The Commandant, 301 Field Artillery Regiment, Gombe; The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Emir of Yamaltu, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, representing the Council of Emirs and Chiefs.
The statement added that the PPS/ Permanent Secretary, General Duties, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Muazu Shehu, will serve as Secretary of the Committee.
