
Court remands 3 over alleged robbery, illegal possession of weapons
A Magistrate Court sitting at Gyadi-Gyadi, Kano, has ordered the remand of three suspects over allegations of armed robbery, illegal possession of dangerous weapons, and criminal conspiracy.
The defendants—Isyaku Mudi, Salisu Danladi, and Najib Ibrahim—were arraigned before the court by the state prosecutor, Barrister Auwal Usman Usman.
The charges were formally read to them by the court registrar, Aminu Kurawa.
According to the prosecution, the accused persons allegedly conspired to forcefully break into a store belonging to one Alhaji Aminu Sharif. During the operation, they reportedly carted away goods valued at N15.9 million.
All three defendants denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate Rakiya Lami Sani ordered that the accused be remanded in a correctional facility pending further proceedings.
She adjourned the case until February 24, for hearing.
