Abazee partners Lens For Good for storytellers’ conference to shape Nigeria’s narrative
Abazee Productions has partnered with Lens For Good to support Nigeria’s largest storytelling conference, as the creative community held its second Storytellers’ Conference at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts.
Lens For Good, founded by Nosa Asemota, personal photographer to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was established to nurture, support and promote Nigerian storytellers across different creative disciplines. Abazee Productions, a film equipment rental company, provided broadcast and audio-visual support for the event.
The conference, themed Stories That Move Us, featured speakers drawn from government, culture, media and business. They included Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III; and Afropolitan Podcast hosts Eche Emole and Chika Uwazie.
Hundreds of young Nigerians attended the event, which focused on the role of storytelling in shaping national identity and influencing how Nigeria is perceived locally and globally.
Participants said the sessions offered practical insights into creative development and collaboration. Bolade Borabike, an aspiring content creator, said, “Today I learned that I should incorporate my life experiences into my storytelling because that itself is a power.”
Another attendee, Fregene Tusowumi, who hopes to pursue photography, said, “Today I learned that I can’t achieve my goals alone; I have to collaborate with other creatives who will bring their own perspective which I can join with mine to achieve something great.”
Abazee Productions has previously provided audio-visual and broadcast support for major national and entertainment events, including Nigeria’s Independence Day celebrations at Aso Rock and the Wizkid G.O.A.T Experience Concert.
