Anthony Joshua mourns friends killed in Ogun crash
Former world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, has paid an emotional tribute to two of his close friends who died in a tragic car accident in Nigeria last month, taking to Instagram to share his grief and reflections.
Joshua, who survived the December 29 crash in Ogun State after being a passenger in the vehicle, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele. He also thanked the public for the support shown to the bereaved families during the difficult period.
In a post shared yesterday, the former world champion spoke about the shock of their passing and the impact they had on his life.
He wrote, “Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers. I didn’t even realise how special they are. I’ll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men.”
Joshua further acknowledged the pain their deaths have caused, particularly for their families, adding, “100% it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents. I have a strong mind, and I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers.”
It will also be noted that Joshua recently spoke about the incident during an emotional conversation with UFC star Kamaru Usman, revealing that the reality of the tragedy is yet to fully register.
