The Super Eagles of Nigeria have opened their training camp in Egypt ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with goalkeeper Francis Uzoho arriving first.
The camp officially opened at the Renaissance Hotel in Cairo on Sunday, December 14.
Uzoho became the first player to report to camp, reportedly arriving shortly after 2 am local time.
Coaches and backroom staff have also settled in as the team begins its build-up to the tournament in Morocco.
A video shared on X by sports photographer Sulaimon Adebayo, popularly known as Pooja, captured the nighttime arrivals.
The footage shows staff members wheeling luggage from vehicles into the hotel lobby under dimly lit conditions.
Uzoho appears later in the video, smiling as he manoeuvres his belongings through the entrance.
Nigeria’s decision to camp in Egypt forms part of its preparation programme, which is expected to include a pre-tournament friendly against the host nation on December 16.
Uzoho was recently recalled to the 28-man squad by coach Eric Chelle, a decision that has generated debate among fans and pundits, particularly in comparison with Maduka Okoye, who has featured regularly for Udinese in Italy’s Serie A.
