Kano court remands 3 over alleged robbery, murder
A High Court in Kano has ordered the remand of three individuals facing charges of conspiracy, armed robbery, and murder following an incident at the residence of Alhaji Musa Tukur.
The defendants—Sanusi Musa, Nuhu Ibrahim, and Baballe Usaini—were arraigned before High Court No. 2, located at the Audu Bako Secretariat, by prosecution counsel, Barrister Hannatu Abdulmalik.
The Court Registrar, Sa’id Idris Maiturare, formally read the charges to the defendants, which included criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and culpable homicide.
According to the prosecution, the suspects allegedly conspired to break into one Alhaji Musa’s residence while armed with dangerous weapons.
It is further alleged that during the robbery, the suspects killed one individual. They were subsequently apprehended by security personnel and taken into custody.
When the charges were read, the defendants pleaded not guilty, denying all allegations leveled against them.
Presiding Judge, Justice Yusuf Ubale Mohammed, ordered that the accused be remanded in a correctional facility pending further proceedings.
The case was adjourned to April 24, for continuation.
