Namadi urges Sharia, area court judges to uphold integrity, protect justice system
Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has urged Sharia and Area Court judges to uphold justice with absolute integrity, describing them as guardians of fairness whose decisions shape societal values.
He made the call while receiving the leadership of the Sharia and Area Court Judges Association of Nigeria (SACJAN), led by its National President, Khadi Mohammed Mudassir Hassan, during a courtesy visit to Government House, Dutse.
Namadi said justice is the backbone of peace, stability and progress, warning that no society survives when truth is compromised. He noted that Sharia Courts significantly influence moral conduct and the behaviour of young people.
“What happens in the courts greatly affects society. If wrongdoing is rewarded and truth denied, society will eventually collapse,” he said.
He urged judges to resist pressure, remain truthful and remember their accountability before God. He lamented rising self-interest in society, saying only a morally upright judiciary can stabilise the system.
Earlier, SACJAN President Khadi Hassan commended Governor Namadi for supporting the judiciary, including welfare improvements and ongoing reforms.
He requested Jigawa State to host the association’s next national conference and announced Namadi’s appointment as SACJAN Grand Patron.
Governor Namadi approved hosting and sponsoring the conference, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening the justice sector and promoting fairness anchored on truth and integrity.
