President Bola Tinubu on Monday unveiled a commemorative book titled From Soldier to Statesman: The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari, in honour of the late former president.
The ceremony, held at the State House Banquet Hall in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, was chaired by a former Information Minister, Lai Mohammed.
Dignitaries, including state governors and family members of the deceased, attended the event.
The book, presented as a multi-volume work, chronicles Buhari’s journey from a military officer to head of state from 1983 to 1985, and later as Nigeria’s democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023.
Edited by Dr Udu Yakubu, with contributions including a memoir from former presidential spokesperson Femi Adesina, the work highlights themes of national unity, anti-corruption efforts, and infrastructure development.
It also addresses ongoing debates over Buhari’s economic policies and security challenges.
Video footage of the unveiling, posted on X by the Nigerian Television Authority, captured Tinubu, dressed in traditional attire, removing a white drape from a large portrait of Buhari to reveal the book’s title.
