
PHOTOS: Gen Murtala Muhammed honoured in Abuja
Dignitaries converged on Abuja, on Friday, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of former Head of State, General Murtala Muhammed.
The late General was murdered, alongside some of his aides, in a failed coup attempt in Lagos, on February 13, 1976.
Members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria laid wreath in his honour alongside other dignitaries.
Among those who attended the event were Prof Ibrahim Gambari, notable diplomat and former Chief of Staff to Late President Muhammadu Buhari.
Angola Ambassador to Nigeria, Jose Zau, was also in attendance.
