Elon Musk becomes first individual to exceed $600bn net worth
The Chief Executive Officer of Tesla, Elon Musk, has made history as the first individual in the world to surpass a net worth of $600 billion, cementing his position as the wealthiest person ever recorded.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk’s fortune currently stands at about $638 billion, placing him far ahead of other global billionaires.
The index shows that his wealth grew by approximately 42.7 per cent within one year, between December 2024 and December 2025.
The surge has created an unprecedented gap between Musk and his closest rivals. Larry Page, co-founder of Google, ranks second on the index with an estimated net worth of $265 billion — less than half of Musk’s fortune.
Sergey Brin follows in third place with $246 billion, while Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ranks fourth at about $246 billion.
Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison is fifth with $238 billion, followed by Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg at $229 billion and LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault at $202 billion.
Others in the top 10 include Steve Ballmer ($166 billion), Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang ($153 billion), and investor Warren Buffett ($152 billion).
Musk’s rise to the $600 billion milestone builds on earlier records. In December 2024, he overtook Bezos to become the first individual to cross the $400 billion mark, a feat that underscored the rapid expansion of his wealth driven largely by gains in technology and artificial intelligence-related ventures.
Beyond Tesla, Musk is also the founder of xAI, an artificial intelligence company. He recently announced the launch of Grokipedia, a digital encyclopedia designed to compete with Wikipedia, further highlighting his growing influence across technology, media, and AI-driven platforms.
The latest figures reinforce Musk’s dominance on the global wealth ranking and mark a new chapter in the scale of personal fortunes in modern history.
