
Adeleke dumps PDP

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP).
In a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman for Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde of Ede North Local government, Osun State, on November 4th, 2025, Adeleke attributed his decision to the ongoing crisis within the national leadership of the party.

The letter reads as follows: “Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the PDP with immediate effect.
“I thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator (Represented Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party.”
Sunday Bisi, the state chairman of the party, had disclosed that Adeleke may no longer be interested in seeking the nomination of the PDP for the 2026 Osun gubernatorial election.

Bisi said, “because of the internal crisis rocking the national leadership of our party, the information at my disposal is that Governor Ademola Adeleke may not, any longer be interested in seeking the nomination of the PDP for the 2026 Osun Gubernatorial Election, except a resolution recognised by INEC is reached within the INEC timeline.”
