The fire at Singer market in Kano State rage into the early hours of Sunday.
Daily Trust had reported how the inferno started from a section of the market on Saturday evening.
As of the time of this report, officials of the Kano State Fire Service were still working to prevent the fire from spreading to other buildings in the market.
Singer market is the biggest commodity market in Kano and northern Nigeria, supplying provision wares and foodstuff to most northern states and some neighbouring West and Central African countries.
