NDLEA discovers illicit drugs concealed in waybill package
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested the owner of a waybill package allegedly used to smuggle illicit drugs into Abuja. Femi Babafemi, the Agency’s spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja. He said NDLEA operatives intercepted a waybill package sent from Enugu on Thursday, February 12, containing a children’s toy guitar. He noted that a search of the guitar revealed it was being used to conceal two parcels of “Canadian Loud”—a potent strain of cannabis—weighing 59.2 grams. According to Babafemi, a follow-up operation led to the arrest of the consignment’s owner at an estate in the Life Camp district of Abuja.
