Oyintiloye lauds Oyebamiji’s emergence as APC Osun governorship candidate, says victory assured
Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has described the emergence of Bola Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate for the August 8, 2026 governorship election as a clear signal of victory for the party.
Oyintiloye, who spoke with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, said Oyebamiji’s emergence through a consensus arrangement reflected the maturity, unity and internal democracy of the APC.
He noted that the outcome of the primary should be credited to the party’s leadership, members and other aspirants who sacrificed their ambitions for the collective interest of the party.

According to him, the seamless process that produced Oyebamiji underscored the growth and strength of character for which the APC is known.
“With Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate and the APC’s impending victory at the polls, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu will be translated into good governance in Osun without a hitch,” Oyintiloye said.
He added that having successfully concluded the primary election, the party should now shift its focus to the main governorship poll, stressing that Oyebamiji’s candidacy was a step in the right direction towards reclaiming power in the state.
Oyintiloye recalled that some critics had predicted an implosion within the party due to the large number of aspirants who initially indicated interest in the APC ticket. However, he said timely intervention by party leaders ensured a peaceful and transparent process.
He commended President Bola Tinubu, Nentawe Yilwatda, APC National Chairman, Bisi Akande, Gboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, and other party stakeholders for their guidance and commitment towards the successful conduct of the primary.
The former lawmaker also urged the APC leadership in Osun to further strengthen party structures across the state to make victory at the polls less strenuous. He expressed confidence that, if elected, Oyebamiji would lead a people-friendly administration focused on policies and programmes that would positively impact residents.
He called on party members to close ranks, intensify mobilisation efforts and work collectively towards returning the APC to power in Osun State in the 2026 governorship election.
