APC Shifts Taraba Governor’s Defection to January 2026
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has announced that Governor Agbu Kefas’s formal defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to APC has been postponed to January 2026.
Barrister Ibrahim El-Sudi, the APC State Chairman, told Daily Trust in a telephone interview that Governor Kefas will officially join the party in January next year.
He, however, did not provide reasons for the delay.
Governor Kefas had earlier postponed his defection, originally scheduled for November 19, following the kidnapping of students in Kebbi State.
The defection was later rescheduled for this coming Saturday before being shifted again.
El-Sudi also stated that the party has resolved to suspend some ward executives for violating its constitution.
He urged all aggrieved members to exhaust internal dispute resolution mechanisms before seeking legal redress.
