AltBank unveils SME package at Kano Trade Fair
The Alternative Bank (AltBank), Nigeria’s foremost non-interest financial institution, has introduced a comprehensive support package for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) at the 46th Kano International Trade Fair, offering traders and entrepreneurs free payment solutions, zero-cost digital onboarding, and targeted business advisory services.
The initiative underscores AltBank’s commitment to using sustainability-driven non-interest finance to empower businesses and strengthen commercial activity across Northern Nigeria.
AltBank’s intervention at the fair is designed to equip micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the tools, capital, and guidance they need to move from basic survival to long-term growth.
Delivering the Bank’s goodwill message, Garba Mohammed, Executive Director (North), said AltBank’s mission extends far beyond traditional banking. Represented by Aliyu Wada-Nas, Regional Business Executive (North West 2), Mohammed affirmed the Bank’s role in supporting shared prosperity.
“At The Alternative Bank, we see ourselves as catalysts for collective progress,” he said. “We will continue to pursue partnerships that drive growth, uplift individuals, strengthen communities, and unlock the potential within businesses.”
As part of the trade fair, the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) hosted a special seminar themed “Empowering SMEs for Sustainable Development: The Pathway to Inclusive Growth.”
Presenting the keynote address, Mohammed highlighted the pivotal role SMEs play in shaping Nigeria’s economic future and called for stronger collaboration across the public and private sectors.
“The nations that lead tomorrow are those that empower their small businesses today,” he said, adding, “Government, financial institutions, development partners, and SMEs must work together to unlock a new era of sustainable and inclusive growth for Kano, Northern.”
