Dogs Bark When They Don’t Understand, Fubara Jabs Wike’s camp
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, says what the state needs most at the moment is peace, mocking detractors that “dogs bark when they don’t understand”.
Fubara said this at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt, during the Inter-Denominational Church Service Service in commemoration of the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day.
He said he has the supreme God who will give the state the needed peace.
In what appeared to be a veiled reference to Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and members of the state House of Assembly, Fubara said: “When we were marking the New Year day, I said something, dog barks when they don’t understand… the reason I don’t complain is that I know what I have, I have the Supreme, that is God, I want you to relax, what is important in this our dear state is peace, and we will get it.”
Fubara has been locked in a political battle with Wike and the state House of Assembly members who are loyal to the Minister.
On Thursday, the assembly issued the third impeachment notice to the governor in the last three years.
