Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has announced a support package for visually impaired gospel singer Chris Vic, including a plot of land in Uyo, a four-bedroom flat, and a ₦100 million music studio.
The governor also placed Vic on a ₦1 million monthly stipend for the duration of his tenure.
Eno, who announced the gesture via his official X account on Sunday morning, framed it as a commitment to supporting citizens with disabilities.
“I have directed the Commissioner for Lands to allocate a plot of land in Uyo to Chris Vic, and I will sign the Certificate of Occupancy next week.
“We will also build him a four-bedroom flat and commit ₦100 million to set up his music studio. This is separate from the cost of the land and the house.
“In addition, as long as I remain governor, he will receive a monthly allowance of ₦1 million,” he wrote.
Vic, whose full name is Christian Victor Eshiet, is a 22-year-old emerging musician from Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
He gained viral fame earlier this year through his performances on Season 4 of the De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt.
Despite his visual impairment, the singer captivated audiences with gospel medleys, including songs like “Kumama Papa,” blended with energetic dance moves that symbolised resilience and faith.
His performances drew some of the highest engagement on the show.
His collaborative performance with Team Unbeatable DC earned millions of views and likes on TikTok and Facebook.
Another worship rendition reportedly earned 3 million views, while a collaboration with Glory Henry and Paskal garnered more than 1.1 million views on Facebook.
He finished as the second runner-up in the competition’s grand finale last month, taking home a ₦3 million cash prize.
Governor Eno said the initiative was driven by a belief that “even in difficult moments, God is still good.”
“Chris Vic shows us that praise is possible in every situation. I also want him, and all persons with disabilities, to know that this government cares,” the governor said.
