Kindly speak on the partnership between Oxford International Abuja Centre and Jokings?
Jokings International Business College (JIBC) proudly holds the Oxford International franchise in Abuja, bringing world-class pathway programmes directly to Nigerian students. Through this franchise, students can access International Foundation Programmes, Pre-Masters Programmes, and the Oxford ELLT English test, all delivered to international standards right here in Abuja.
Through our partnership with Oxford International Pathways, I am proud to say that Oxford International is now fully established here in Abuja. Our mission is to provide globally-recognised pathway programmes that prepare Nigerian students for successful entry into top universities abroad, giving them a clear and trusted route to achieving their international academic goals.
Tell us more about your pathway programmes, what they entail and the type of students they are designed for?
At JIBC, we help students prepare for universities abroad through pathway programmes. These programmes are designed for students who want to study in the UK but need extra academic preparation or English support.
We offer International Foundation Programme (IFP). This prepares international students for undergraduate and bachelor-level studies. Students can take pathways in Business, Accounting, and Computer Science. The programme runs for approximately nine months and equips students with the academic skills and knowledge needed to succeed at top universities abroad.
Our Pre-Masters Programme (PMP) is designed for students aiming for postgraduate and master’s level studies. It focuses on Business Management, Leadership, Finance, Marketing, and MBA preparation. The programme lasts approximately 6 months.
There is something we call Popular Progression Courses. Students from these programmes often continue into fields such as Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, Leadership, Computing, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Gaming, Networking, and Artificial Intelligence.
These programmes provide a trusted, internationally recognised pathway to higher education success for Nigerian students.
Our Oxford English Language Level Test (ELLT) is an internationally-recognised English proficiency test designed to assess your level of English for academic or professional purposes. Developed and delivered by Oxford International Digital Institute, it is trusted by hundreds of thousands of test takers every year and provides reliable results to help students succeed in education or work abroad
What motivated Jokings to establish the Oxford International Pathway Centre in Abuja, and what key educational need does it add?
Jokings created the centre because many Nigerian students dream of studying abroad but don’t always know how to start and do not meet the entry requirements. We have brought a trusted UK-standard pathway centre right here to Abuja so students can: follow a clear, safe route to university abroad; get proper guidance; receive correct academic preparation; write their English tests locally, and avoid misinformation.
In short, we opened the centre to make global education easy, accessible, and genuine for Nigerian students.
What makes your centre stand out?
There are many factors that make us different. We are officially powered by Oxford International UK; Our pathways lead directly to top universities worldwide; Our fees are affordable compared to many high-end schools in Abuja; Students receive personal guidance, not crowd-based learning; We train students for English tests right here in Abuja; Our programmes are internationally-recognised.
Most importantly, we provide a clear route to real university admissions, not guesswork.
One of your promises is accessible international study opportunities. How achievable is this for the average Nigerian student?
It is very achievable because we break the process down into simple steps: Student attends a consultation; submits documents; we process the application; offer letter comes out within two weeks; student pays deposit; classes and preparation begin, and student progresses to a partner university abroad.
We also guide students with: English test preparation; academic foundation; document support; university matching. So, even an average student with the right determination can achieve this.
How does your partnership with Oxford International strengthen the global acceptance of your programme?
Although our programmes are powered by Oxford International in the UK, our fees remain very affordable, making world-class education accessible to Nigerian students. Our qualifications are globally-recognised, ensuring students gain the academic preparation and credibility needed to succeed at top universities abroad. Oxford International is a trusted global education organisation, recognised by many UK universities. Through this partnership students receive UK-standard training; universities abroad accept our pathway results, and students progress smoothly into top schools after completion
This collaboration gives parents and students confidence that they are choosing a legitimate and internationally recognised pathway to higher education success.
What academic support do students receive to help them transition smoothly into universities abroad?
We provide experienced tutors; English test training; study skills preparation; one-on-one academic guidance; help with personal statements; help with university selection, and support with applications and documents. By the time a student finishes the programme, they are fully ready for university-level studies abroad
