Otti meets Tinubu after visiting Nnamdi Kanu
Abia State Governor Alex Otti met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, shortly after the president concluded a security briefing with service chiefs.
Otti was spotted arriving at the villa around midday, TheCable understands. Although details of the closed-door meeting were not immediately disclosed, the visit comes amid renewed political manoeuvring over the fate of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The governor had visited Kanu at the Sokoto correctional centre days earlier, describing the trip as part of a political and diplomatic strategy to secure the separatist leader’s release following his conviction for terrorism-related offences.
Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti’s special adviser on media and publicity, said the governor encouraged Kanu to remain strong during the visit. He added that engagements initiated by Otti “more than two years ago” toward resolving the matter had now been intensified.
The meeting with Tinubu has fuelled speculation that quiet negotiations or high-level consultations may be underway regarding possible relief for Kanu, though neither side has officially confirmed the subject of their discussion.
