Ibadan welcomes 2331 Hotel
The Ibadan hospitality market has welcomed a new entrant to boost offerings for guests.
2331 Lounge, Hotel and Restaurant, the new entrant, opened in the Mokola–Bodija axis of Ibadan, offering a blend of premium accommodation, fine dining and a relaxing social lounge under one roof.
Speaking at the opening, Lola Olayinka, a director of the hotel, said that 2331 was inspired by a vision to create a complete lifestyle destination where guests can relax comfortably in a refined environment.
According to her, the name 2331 reflects the personal stories of the two directors behind the project as 23 represents January 23rd, while 31 stands for the 31st day, with both dates holding special memories for the directors.
The management outlined its primary target market and operational strategy, highlighting investments in staff training, digital systems, and sustainability to deliver quality guest experiences.
She also noted that the hospitality brand caters to a broad range of guests, including business travellers, leisure visitors, families, and tourists seeking comfort and quality dining.
“Our primary target includes business travellers, leisure guests, families, and tourists,” Olayinka said. “2331 is positioned as a home away from home for guests who want comfort and privacy.”
According to the management, 2331 Hotel, Lounge and Restaurant is set to build strong brand awareness and expanding its footprint within the city, with a focus to establish itself as a trusted name for service excellence, comfort, and quality dining in Ibadan.
“Our short-term goals are centered on brand awareness and service excellence,” Olayinka said. “We have been consistent with our branding efforts and are leveraging social media platforms to further boost awareness and visibility.”
She explained that while the hotel is newly launched, plans are underway to grow the brand over time, with expansion forming a major part of its long-term vision.
“In the long term, we are focusing on expansion and brand growth,” she noted.
“After this location, we are looking at expanding the brand further, possibly with additional branches, subject to maintaining quality and consistency.”
According to Olayinka, the expansion plans are currently focused on Ibadan, with the goal of strengthening the brand locally before considering a broader regional or national presence.
Looking ahead, she expressed optimism about the future of the brand, projecting that within five years, 2331 would be widely recognised in Nigeria’s hospitality industry.
“In five years, we see 2331 as a recognised hospitality brand, known for comfort, dining excellence, and vibrant social experiences,” she said.
Reflecting on the launch, Olayinka described the experience as deeply fulfilling, noting that the opening represents the realisation of a vision built on dedication and hard work.
“It is very rewarding to see the doors open and customers coming in. It represents our vision coming to life,” she said.
She also offered advice to young entrepreneurs interested in venturing into the hospitality business, stressing the importance of patience, people, and quality service.
“They should focus on quality and people, and they must be patient,” Olayinka advised. “Hospitality is about genuinely caring about service. Quality and people are very important.”
Extending an invitation to potential guests, she encouraged members of the public to experience what the hotel has to offer.
“At 2331, comfort meets flavour,” she said. “We invite guests to come, stay, dine with us, unwind, and experience hospitality at its best.”
