The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Seme Command has generated over N2.5 billion at the Seme border, in the month of October 2025.
The revenue which was collected within a specified period, highlights the command’s commitment to meeting its revenue targets.
The command’s revenue generation efforts are part of the Nigeria Customs Service’s broader strategy to increase revenue collection and support the country’s economic development goals.
The Customs Area Controller, Seme Area Command, Comptroller Wale Adenuga, made this disclosure at a brief ceremony in honour of two of its officers, the out-gone Public Relations Officer (PRO), CSC Isah Sulaiman, and a retired Head of the Command’s Scanning Unit, Deputy Comptroller Audu Samson Edime.
Commending both officers, Adenuga noted the seamless working relationship he had with both officers, adding that their contribution accounts for the command’s revenue surge.
Adenuga explained that in the month of October, the Command recorded seizures worth N1.99 billion in Duty Paid Value (DPV).
He stated that the seizures include 10,000 bags of expired flour originating from Egypt, with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N1.21 billion.
Others were 1,104 parcels of Cannabis Sativa; 120 packs of Tramadol 120mg; 2,043 bags of foreign parboiled rice (50kg each); 150 bales of second-hand clothing; 169 bottles of cough syrup with codeine; and five used vehicles.
“The Command’s revenue is still rising and hopefully, it will surpass N3 billion by the end of the forth quarter of the year” he said.
