2027: Support group backs Tinubu for re-election

The Presidential Coalition Committee, on Saturday, launched a sensitisation drive in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The gathering, held at Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Adesola, Ibadan, brought together elders, leaders, and members of the All Progressives Congress from Oyo and Lagos states and beyond, with speakers urging Nigerians to remain patient with the Federal Government’s ongoing reforms.

Speaking at the event, the convener of the PCC, Gbolahan Yusuf, said the essence of the programme was to enlighten the people on what he described as the “good works” of President Tinubu and to encourage them to endure the temporary pains associated with reforms.

Yusuf, an APC chieftain from Alimosho, Lagos State, said rebuilding the nation would take time, stressing that reforms were often difficult but necessary.

“It is easy to destroy things, but reform takes time. What we are going through now is a rebuilding process. Our people must persevere and understand that better days are ahead,” he said.

He called on APC members in Oyo State to remain steadfast and committed to the party, assuring them that the President’s policies would eventually yield positive results.

“My message to APC members in this state is to believe that good times are coming back again. President Tinubu will make Nigerians happy. We should endure with him,” he said.

He further highlighted key Federal Government initiatives, including efforts to stabilise the oil sector, support the Dangote Refinery project, and improve foreign exchange earnings.

“The Federal Government is working to make oil cheaper and to support the Dangote Refinery to become the largest in the world. When that happens, foreign exchange will improve. There is a lot to expect from this leadership,” he said.

Yusuf also pointed to major infrastructure projects such as the proposed coastal road and ongoing railway developments, arguing that no other political party had demonstrated such capacity.

“There is no other party like the APC in Nigeria today. Most opposition figures are joining the APC, and we are leaving no stone unturned,” he said.

Also speaking, an APC leader in Oyo State, Mufu Adisa, said the event signified unity within the party and a clear commitment to securing a second term for Tinubu.

“What we are here to do is to ensure that Tinubu becomes president for a second time. The APC is in one place and fully united,” he said.

In his remarks, a former chairman of Mosan-Okunola Local Government Area of Lagos State, AbdulRasheed Abiodun, urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and remain loyal to the party’s leadership.

Also, the Chairman of the Mandate Movement Group, Lagos State, Abdulahi Enilolobo, expressed optimism about the APC’s chances in Oyo, declaring that the party would emerge victorious in future elections.

“Oyo APC will win. We will work hard to ensure that the APC wins all positions. We are happy with this sensitisation programme and the launch of this initiative,” Enilolobo said.
