APC shifts Gov Kefas’ defection to January
The Taraba State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Ibrahim El-Sudi, has announced that the formal defection of Governor Agbu Kefas from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC has again been shifted, this time to January, 2026.
El-Sudi, who disclosed this in a telephone interview with Daily Trust, confirmed that the governor would officially join the ruling party next year but declined to give reasons for the latest postponement.
Governor Kefas was initially scheduled to defect on November 19, but the event was postponed following the kidnapping of students in Kebbi State. A new date set for this Saturday was also cancelled.
The APC chairman further revealed that the party had taken disciplinary action against some ward executives over alleged violations of the party’s constitution.
He urged aggrieved members to exhaust internal dispute resolution mechanisms before seeking redress in court.
