ADC: We Are Determined to Take Power in Yobe
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed its determination to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State and at the national level in the 2027 general elections.
The former Minister of Police Affairs and ADC leader in Yobe State, Hon. Adamu Maina Waziri, stated this while speaking to journalists after commissioning the party’s zonal and local government area secretariats in Damaturu, Tarmuwa, and Bursari.
Waziri said that the commissioning of the party secretariats across the local government areas signals ADC’s intensified efforts to position itself as a credible alternative to the ruling APC in Yobe State and across the country.
According to him, the party has been working towards a successful national convention and primary elections, which he said would further reposition and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Our party, ADC, is determined to challenge the status quo, and by God’s grace, we are going to change it. We are putting the party’s structures in place,” he said.
Waziri, a former member of the PDP Board of Trustees, noted that the party’s priority is to convince Yobe residents and Nigerians—especially the youth—that ADC offers genuine solutions to the country’s challenges.
He further disclosed that a nationwide membership registration and validation exercise would commence within the next two weeks, ahead of the local government and state congresses, as well as the party’s non-elective national convention.
