
Katsina inaugurates technical committee for Nigeria for Women Programme scale-up
Aisha Aminu Malumfashi, Katsina State commissioner for women affairs, has inaugurated the State Technical Committee (STC) for the Nigeria for Women Programme (NFWP) Scale-Up Project.
Speaking at the inauguration in Katsina, Malumfashi urged members of the committee to carry out their responsibilities with diligence, dedication and a high sense of accountability to ensure the success of the project in the state.

She described the NFWP Scale-Up as a strategic intervention designed to improve livelihoods and deepen the economic empowerment of women across Katsina State.
According to the commissioner, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs will serve as chairman of the State Technical Committee, while the State Project Coordinator, Aisha Mohammed Yusuf, will act as secretary, in line with the project implementation manual.
She explained that membership of the committee cuts across key ministries and agencies, including permanent secretaries from the ministries of health; basic and secondary education; commerce and industry; budget and economic planning; agriculture; water resources; and finance. Other members are representatives of the Katsina State Development Management Board (KTDMB) and the Katsina State Enterprises and Development Agency (KASEDA).
In his response, Nura Murtala, chairman of the STC and permanent secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, thanked the state government for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to ensure the effective implementation of the project.
He assured that all relevant line ministries and agencies would be fully engaged in the execution of the programme’s activities.
The Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up Project is aimed at strengthening women’s economic capacity, expanding access to financial services and promoting inclusive development in participating communities across Katsina State.
