Gunmen abduct 3 students in Edo
Three students of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, were reportedly abducted by suspected kidnappers at Ihunmudum, in Esan West Local Government Area.
The gunmen allegedly stormed an off-campus hostel in the area and whisked the students into the bush at gunpoint. Following the incident, other hostel occupants reportedly deserted the premises for fear of a repeat attack.
One of the victims’ fathers, who identified himself as Mr. Ojo, appealed to the government and relevant authorities to rescue his son and the others. A community source said the abductors have not yet contacted anyone to demand ransom.
The Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Moses Yamu, told Daily Trust that he had not yet received details of the incident but promised to provide updates.
