
Police arrest 3 suspected robbers in Delta
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspected armed robbers during a robbery operation in the State
The suspects, Oghenemaro Martins, 25, Tarebi Miracle Ogbada, 22 and Okorie James Kalu, 19, were arrested by the Police in collaboration with local hunters and forest guards.
The command spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, said the police received a distress call that some armed robbery gang were operating along the Asaba–Benin Expressway and mobilised to the area.
He said on arriving at the scene, the criminal gang ambushed the operatives with sporadic gunfire, but the police’s response overwhelmed the assailants and forcing them to flee.
He said the police chased them and, in the process, arrested three of the suspects while others escaped.
He said while fleeing, the suspects abandoned a bag containing one E Beretta pistol, a locally made pistol, four live 9mm Beretta ammunition, a P laptop, three iPhones, one PS5 game console, two necklaces and a laptop charger.
Edafe said the suspects are in custody while the investigation is ongoing.
