Governor Fintiri Warns Against False Information, Affirms Schools Will Remain Open
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has dismissed reports claiming that the State Government has ordered the closure of schools, describing the information as false, misleading, and the handiwork of mischief makers.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the Governor said at no time did the government direct any school to shut down, nor is there any intention to do so.
“The attention of the Adamawa State Government has been drawn to misleading information circulating in some quarters that the Government has ordered schools to shut down. We want to categorically state that this information is false and baseless,” the statement said.
Governor Fintiri urged members of the public to disregard the rumours and continue with normal academic activities.
He warned that the government would not hesitate to take decisive action against individuals bent on sowing confusion and tarnishing the administration’s image.
“These malicious rumours are the work of those who want to create panic and disrupt public peace. We will not tolerate any attempt to undermine our efforts to reposition the education sector and improve the lives of our citizens,” the Governor said.
He noted that the administration has made significant progress in improving infrastructure and quality across the education sector, reaffirming his commitment to making Adamawa State a hub of educational excellence.
The Governor further appealed to residents to remain vigilant against misinformation and continue to support government initiatives aimed at building a better and more stable state.
“We warn those spreading false information to desist immediately or face the full weight of the law. Government will continue to work tirelessly to deliver quality education and secure the future of our children,” he added.
