“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the PDP with immediate effect. I sincerely appreciate the PDP for providing me with the political platform to participate in the democratic process,” the letter reads.

BusinessDay had earlier reported that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) announced the alleged defection of the Plateau State governor at a stakeholders meeting in Abuja last month.
The claim immediately sparked political controversy in the state, drawing reactions from party stakeholders and fueling speculation about the governor’s political future.
However, the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dismissed the assertion, insisting that the governor remains a bona fide member of the party. According to the PDP, the governor has not submitted any formal letter of resignation as required by the party’s constitution, stressing that without such official communication, any claim of defection remains unfounded.
